JustCBD, a South Florida CBD manufacturer is being sued by a woman in the US Virgin Islands. The woman is suing based on her claims that one of JustCBD’s vape products made her sick. She asserts that the CBD vape oil made by the company caused her to experience pneumonia-like symptoms a few months back in August.
After feeling sick, she was ultimately transferred to a Miami hospital, where she had to get her legs amputated due to organ failure and oxygen deprivation, according to Courthouse News Service.
In response, JustCBD, subsidiary of JustBrands, has yet to respond to the liability lawsuit in court. However, spokeswoman Holly Baird, stated that the company was “saddened” by the woman’s illness but felt that they were not responsible. Additionally, she reported that JustCBD doesn’t sell their products in the US Virgin Islands.
This lawsuit comes as the Hollywood, Florida company is also fighting unrelated litigation claims regarding content labels that allegedly misstate the concentration of CBD in their products (topicals, tinctures, capsules & vape products).
